On your mark. Get set. Go!

Eek! I am so nervous about this. Being creative is therapeutic for me. It helps me to unwind and concentrate on something positive. Well, on to what the blog is about. I have chosen to do one card a day starting January 1, 2014, however I decided why not start now to get me in the groove of things. Today's card is for one of our nieces whose birthday is in June. She currently enjoys horses, so here is my version of a birthday card for her. I used my Silhouette Cameo to design this card.

First I took the horse head and duplicated it. I took the duplicated head and flipped it horizontally. Then I welded them together as seen above.

Here it is when it is folded in half.

I added the white on the nose to replicate one of the horses they had. I also added the eye, which I designed myself on the Silhouette Studio.

I chose the font I wanted to use and welded each of the letters together to make it easier to adhere to my card.

I really enjoyed making this card and making it personal for our niece! I hope you enjoy it too!

  2. Great idea, Jess! This card is lovely and sweet, just like the others I've seen you make. May you have many happy hours as you enjoy using your talents in this way.

  3. What a fun blog Jessica - I'm having fun seeing your posts.
I was wondering if you ever might take a special request for someone to buy a personalized card? As you know, my arts and crafts skilz are totally lacking, but I would love to be able to get something made for Grace. Her birthday is coming up in August and she is turning 6 this year. She has been going on and on about her birthday since the day after her LAST birthday, so I really feel like I need to make this one special. Let me know if you might do a card on "commission"?

  4. Thanks everyone for the compliments. I appreciate them and it helps me to continue to stay motivated. As for making a "special order" for a card, I would love to. In fact I would be honored to. Just let me know what you would like.
