Thank a soldier!

With Independence Day coming up in a month, my husband suggested that I make a patriotic card. I don't know too many people that give out cards for the 4th of July, so I decided to make a thank you for a soldier. The technique I chose is another one that I have seen on Pinterest used in a variety of ways.
Here is the start of my pinwheel. I cut 8 squares at 1 1/4".

I kept overlapping them in such a way that it shows every other pattern. I added a brad in the middle as a finishing touch.

I used my Cuttlebug on the white paper to get the embossed stars.

I used my Creative Memories star punches to create the 3 layered stars at the bottom.

I chose yellow as the background of the inside of the card to symbolize the yellow support the troops ribbon. I cut the words using my Silhouette Cameo.

Both my husband and I were in the military. It is very important to make sure that military personnel know how much they are appreciated for all of their hard work and long hours, even if they are not overseas.
